On the introduction in 2019 in the Republic of Belarus of temporary load limits on the axles of vehicles in relation to republican public roads

The decree of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus of March 6, 2019 № 10 «On the introduction in 2019 of temporary load limits on the axles of vehicles, self-propelled vehicles in relation to republican public roads» (hereinafter - Decree № 10) entered into force from 25 March 2019.
In accordance with the decree № 10, from March 25 to April 25, 2019 (hereinafter - the spring period) temporary loads are imposed on the axles of vehicles, self-propelled vehicles in the range of 6 to 9 tons per single axis in relation to republican public roads in accordance with a list of republican roads according to with Appendix 1 of the decree No. 10.

Temporary restrictions in the spring period do not apply to:
republican highways and their sections, specified in subparagraphs 2.1 and 2.2 of paragraph 2 of Decree No. 10;
transport of passengers, live animals, flowers, humanitarian aid, medicines, mail and postal cargo, grain, mixed fodder, seed fund, rapeseed, fertilizers, dangerous goods, milk and dairy products, as well as goods transported in specialized cargo vehicles with an isothermal body (isothermal vans, refrigerators and tanks) for the safety of which requires adherence to a special temperature and sanitary conditions;
activities for the maintenance, repair and development (construction, reconstruction) of public roads;
transport of goods in order to ensure defense, law and order, liquidation of emergency situations or the consequences of road accidents.
From May 23 to August 31, 2019 (hereinafter - the summer period), at daytime air temperatures above 25 ° С the maximum permissible load on a single axle of not more than 6 tons is imposed on republican roads with asphalt-concrete pavement from 11.00 to 20.00 inclusive.
Temporary restrictions set in the first part of this subparagraph do not apply to:
vehicles, self-propelled vehicles when traveling on republican toll roads (sections of republican toll roads) according to the list in accordance with Appendix 2;
vehicles, self-propelled vehicles transporting passengers, live animals, flowers, humanitarian aid cargo, road bitumen, concrete and asphalt concrete mixtures, dangerous goods, grain, mixed fodder, rapeseed, seed fund, milk and dairy products, as well as goods carried in specialized cargo vehicles with an isothermal body (isothermal vans, refrigerators and tanks) for the safety of which requires adherence to a special temperature and sanitary conditions;
vehicles transporting animal waste for their disposal and (or) recycling;
vehicles, self-propelled vehicles carrying out activities for the maintenance, repair and development (construction, reconstruction) of public roads;
vehicles, self-propelled vehicles carrying out the transportations related to the liquidation of emergency situations and the consequences of road accidents.
