Belarus. Penalty for leaving money in the documents presented to the Customs Officials will be up to 50 base amounts

In accordance with information provided by the Press service of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Belarus, since July 23, 2015, the Customs Authorities are entitled to conduct the administrative proceedings in cases of offenses provided for by Art. 23.32 (infringement of the regime at the border- crossing points across the State border) of the Republic of Belarus Administrative Code).

"In case of leaving by the individuals crossing the State border of Belarus the money in the documents presented for inspection, and in case of committing by them the actions aimed at the incitement of the Customs Officials to a violation of Law, provided that there are sufficient reasons and grounds for it,  the employees of the National Customs clearance points will initiate the Administrative process on the offenders ", - the State Customs Committee spokesman has noted.

The SCC emphasized that offenders will be subject to an administrative penalty of a fine of up to 50 base amounts (currently the base amount equals to Br180 000), and if there are signs of repetition of the above-mentioned offence the fine will be increased up to 100 base amounts.
