Belarus. The axle loads seasonal restrictions in the Republic of Belarus

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus has informed the Association “BAMAP” on the following.

Due to the abnormal temperature regime, which has set in the Republic of Belarus from the midst of February, 2014, the snow cover absence and the observed dynamic of the soil thawing at the open areas, the introduction of the vehicles’ axle loads spring restrictions on the Republican all-purpose motorways in 2014 is not expedient.

At the same time the weakening of the road pavement and its possible deformations may happen at the specific road sections with the adverse soil, ground and hydrological conditions, in which the road pavement may be subject to the over wetting.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus has entrusted the Road Services to organize the constant monitoring of such road sections and in the case of the threat of the pavement destruction to take the measures on the traffic regimes revision, foreseen by the Legislation.
