Introduction in 2020 of temporary restrictions on the axle loads of vehicles and self-propelled vehicles in relation to republican public roads in the summer period

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus informs about the introduction in 2020 of temporary restrictions on the axle loads of vehicles and self-propelled vehicles in relation to republican public roads in the summer period.

In order to ensure the safety of republican highways during periods of unfavorable weather (meteorological) conditions, on the basis of Article 19 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of 5 January 2008 No. 313-Z “About road traffic”, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus annually introduces temporary restrictions on the axle loads of vehicles and self-propelled vehicles in relation to the republican public roads.

In 2020 it is planned to introduce temporary restrictions on the axle loads of vehicles anf self-propelled vehicles in relation to republican public roads from July 1 to September 20 - the maximum permissible load on a single axis of vehicles, self-propelled vehicles when driving on republican public roads with asphalt concrete pavement from 11 hours 00 minutes to 20 hours 00 minutes inclusive at a daily air temperature above 25 ° C should not exceed 6 tons.

These restrictions are not intended to apply:

- to sections of toll roads;

- M-14 highway Second ring road around the city of Minsk;

- section of the highway R-80 Sloboda - Papernya, km 0 - km 14.7;

- the roads on which drivers are required to transit through the territory of the Republic of Belarus on vehicles intended for international road transport according to the list in accordance with Appendix 1 to the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of 25 March 2020 No. 171 «On measures to prevent the importation and spread of infection caused by the coronavirus COVID-19».

If there is a threat to the safety of roads, the owners have the right, prior to the adoption of an appropriate decision on a temporary restriction or temporary prohibition of the driving of the vehicles on these roads, to introduce, as agreed with the Main Department of the State Automobile Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Department of the State Automobile Inspection of the Department of Internal Affairs, temporary (for up to 10 days) restrictions on the mass and load on the axles of vehicles, self-propelled vehicles.
